Intensive Prevention Advanced Practitioner
Want to find out more about working in Barnsley? Here are some reasons why you'll love it...
We are committed to achieving the very best outcomes for vulnerable children and young people in Barnsley. Children and their families are at the centre of all that we do, and our practice is underpinned by a strength-based and relational model. We are an Ofsted-rated ‘Good’ authority, with high aspirations for our children and young people.
We believe that with the right support, children can remain at home safely, even when challenges seem insurmountable. This is your opportunity to be an integral part of this innovative service focused on keeping families together, tackling issues proactively, and building lasting resilience to safely prevent and reduce the number of children and young people entering the care system in Barnsley.
This is an exciting opportunity to join Barnsley's new Intensive Prevention Team as an Advanced Practitioner. The team works with children aged 10-18 at risk of entering Local Authority care. You will assist the Team Manager in leading efforts to strengthen family relationships and reduce this outcome by managing complex cases, assessing and mitigating risks, sharing specialist knowledge, and contributing to practice development.
You will:
1. Work with the Team Manager to embed and establish the new Intensive Prevention Team by contributing to service planning and ensuring interventions are tailored to individual family needs, focusing on improving outcomes for children.
2. Support senior colleagues with prioritisation, allocation, planning, and review of work in accordance with policies, procedures, and statutory requirements, contributing to effective budget management, ensuring value for money, and maximising service efficiencies.
3. Support the team to engage and develop effective relationships with young people and families, thinking creatively to overcome barriers to intervention. The intervention will focus on overcoming barriers impacting health, social, emotional, and educational needs to improve outcomes and help children reach their full potential while remaining in their family setting.
4. Manage and deliver support to families, focusing on building upon networks and utilising existing resources to ensure safety and support during crises.
