Main Duties of a Test Engineer
Fault-find PCBs and electronic units to component level (digital & analogue)
Use computer-based test programs and schematic drawings for diagnostics
Inspect boards and assemblies against production drawings and specifications
Operate ATE (Automated Test Equipment) and Flying Probe systems
Use oscilloscopes, multimeters, frequency counters, power supplies, and other test tools
Provide detailed test feedback and reports to support quality improvement
Maintain calibration and performance of test equipment, jigs, and fixtures
Ensure engineering changes align with production requirements
Work within ISO9001:2015 and AS9100 Rev D quality standards
Support the company’s environmental policies and procedures
Personal Specification of a Test Engineer
GCSE Grade 4/C or above in English, Maths, and Science
Proficient in using test tookks (PSUs, multimeters, oscilloscopes, and signal generators)
Ability to read and interpret electronic schematics and diagrams
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
Excellent problem-solving skills and a methodical approach
