THE EMPLOYER IS: OH PAPI LTD The Front of house assistant will be responsible for delivering fast, friendly service and ensuring every customer enjoys the full OH Papi experience. From taking orders and handling payments to maintaining a clean and inviting dining area, this role keeps the vibe positive and the service smooth.
Responsibilities
* Greet every guest with a friendly smile, creating a positive first impression that reflects OH Papi’s energetic Mexican vibe.
* Customer Engagement: Promote daily specials, combos, or new items, and upsell add-ons (e.g. guacamole, drinks, desserts) to enhance the customer experience.
* Order Taking: Accurately take customer orders in-person, online, or by phone, ensuring clarity on preferences, customizations, and dietary requirements.
* Cash Handling: Manage cash transactions securely, balance tills at the end of shifts, and report discrepancies promptly.
* POS Operation: Competently operate the point-of-sale (POS) system for order entry, payments, refunds, and receipts, ensuring accuracy and accountability.
* Problem Solving: Handle complaints or customer concerns calmly, courteously, and promptly, escalating to management when necessary to ensure satisfaction.
* Queue Management: Maintain flow during busy periods by managing queues, coordinating with kitchen staff, and prioritizing orders effectively.
* Cleanliness: Maintain high standards of cleanliness in all food preparation and storage areas, ensuring compliance with EHO standards.
* Adhere strictly to OH Papi’s food safety policies and HACCP procedures.
* Allergen Awareness: Understand allergen procedures and labelling to prevent cross-contamination, in line with OH Papi’s Allergen Matrix. and customer information boards.
* Menu Knowledge: Demonstrate a strong understanding of OH Papi’s menu, ingredients, spice levels, portion sizes, and allergens to confidently guide customers in their choices.
* Speed and Accuracy: Prepare and package food orders efficiently for both dine-in and takeaway, maintaining presentation standards.
* Delivery Coordination: Liaise with delivery partners (via the OH Papi app and third-party platforms) to ensure timely, accurate dispatch of online orders.
* Table Service: Where applicable, serve food and drinks to tables, ensuring all orders are complete and customers have everything they need.
* Personal Hygiene: Follow food hygiene standards, including hand washing, uniform standards, and proper handling of utensils and packaging.
* Equipment Use: Operate beverage machines, food warmers, and point-of-sale systems safely and efficiently.
* Stock Management: Monitor and restock front-of-house items (napkins, sauces, cutlery, drinks, packaging) to ensure uninterrupted service.
* Reporting: Communicate low stock, maintenance issues, or system errors to the manager immediately.
* Sustainability: Support the brand’s commitment to sustainability by reducing food waste, conserving resources, and recycling properly.

* Responsibility: Take ownership of daily lists, cleaning schedules, and closing checklists.

The Employer is: OH PAPI LTD JobStart Opportunity - Working Hours Information -Standard Hours: up to 25 hours per week. -Flexible/Reduced Hours: May be available upon approval by a Work Coach. -Additional Hours: The employer may offer extra hours depending on availability.
