Behind every law firm is a team that makes the numbers make sense.
This pivotal role in a respected and ambitious law firm will provide a great opportunity to shape and modernise our finance function. The senior finance role combines operational and strategic elements, with an initial focus on financial control responsibilities. You will be responsible for overseeing all day-to-day financial operations, ensuring accuracy in reporting, maintaining regulatory compliance, and managing a small but capable finance team. This is a pivotal, senior leadership position, providing financial leadership across the firm and shaping its long-term direction.
The Head of Finance will also work closely with the Management Team and the Managing Partner (MP). They will be a key member of the leadership team and will regularly participate in management and operational meetings.
As the role progresses, there is significant scope to become involved in wider strategic planning and business decision-making. A new practice management system is expected to be implemented, and the successful candidate will play a key role in its configuration and roll-out. You will act as the finance superuser, helping to shape how the system supports the business now and into the future.
Key responsibilities include:
* Core Financial Management
* System Implementation and Optimisation
* Reporting and Compliance
* Strategic and Commercial Development (as role evolves – working with the Consultant Finance Director)
This is a place where you can bring both precision and perspective—supporting teams across the firm with smart financial thinking and number-crunching that actually matters.
