Contract: Fixed term 12 months (Internal candidates will be offered a secondment to cover maternity leave).
Hours: Full time, Part time, Job share, Compressed hours. 37.5 hours per week (split post – 18.75 hours Bexley ICMP and 18.75 hours Lesney Ward).

Job Overview
To provide a highly‑specialist psychology service to adult mental health clients both inpatient and community, acting as the continuity link between ward and community. The role involves specialist psychological assessment, formulation and therapy, and offers advice and consultation to non‑psychologist colleagues and carers, within the team’s policies and procedures.
Main Responsibilities
* Provide specialist psychological assessment, formulation and interventions to clients referred to the ICMP Community Mental Health Service and Acute Inpatient Wards, working directly and indirectly with clients, family members and other involved carers.
* Deliver NICE‑approved CBTp and Family Interventions for Psychosis to individuals, carers, families and groups, adjusting and refining psychological formulations as needed.
* Contribute to the provision of psychology therapies within the Bexley Psychosis Pathway and Acute Inpatient Wards.
* Develop, evaluate and monitor team operational policies and services, contributing to research, service evaluation and audit.
* Advise both service and professional management on psychological and organisational matters.
* Manage workload of assistant and trainee clinical psychologists within the team’s framework.
* Provide specialist psychological advice, guidance and consultation to other professionals contributing to clients’ formulation and treatment plans.
* Participate in risk assessment and risk management for individual clients, and advise on safeguarding vulnerable adults and children.
* Maintain high standards of clinical record keeping, including electronic data entry and report writing, in accordance with professional codes of practice.
* Utilise Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for clinical and training materials.
* Supervise trainee clinical psychologists and provide clinical supervision to staff as required.
* Engage in teaching and training of staff and trainee psychologists to develop skills and knowledge in psychosis and evidence‑based practice.
* Conduct service research, audits, and project management to support evidence‑based practice and service improvement.
* Ensure professional registration with HCPC/BABCP/UKCP and maintain this status.
* Adhere to all Trust policies, procedures and guidelines, including equal opportunities, health and safety, and confidentiality.
Person Specification
* Registered with HCPC, BABCP or UKCP.
* Postgraduate certificate in CBT (for psychosis or SMI) or Family Interventions for Psychosis.
* Pre‑qualification training in research methodology, staff training or other applied psychology fields.
* Experience working in a mental health setting, particularly inpatient or crisis services.
* Experience delivering CBT to clients with psychosis and incumbent in acute adult inpatient mental health.
* Experience running groups and working with families.
* Experience teaching staff groups and providing supervision.
* Experience joint working with nurses, doctors and MDT members.
