* To fabricate and fit-out of exhibition set-works and presentation elements to designer’s specifications. Includes producing, finishing and installing partitions, plinths, panels and blocks, showcase inserts, mounts/supports, models and props using a variety of materials including, but not limited to, ZMDF, wood, acrylic, fabric, Forex.
* Painting of panels, mounts, case interiors and other materials, achieving a high-quality finish at all times.
* Installing vinyl lettering, rubdowns, text panels, labels and other graphical material
* Making scale models and mock-ups of exhibitions and displays from architectural surveys or designer's working drawings for presentation and as aids to showing potential solutions to design problems.
* To advise designers, project managers and other colleagues on technical aspects of exhibition presentation including, but not limited to, construction methods, materials, installation/dismantling, and health and safety.
* Maintenance of displays and exhibitions during show runs, and dismantling of displays after exhibition close.

About you:

* Good general education including GCSEs or equivalent
* Demonstrable interest in aspects of the Museum’s activities
* Practical experience of hand tools and workshop equipment; carpentry experience
* Knowledge of COSHH, H&S and other relevant guidelines
* Ability to work well as part of team; self-motivated and able to use initiative; good communicator
