Environmental Permitting Coordinator (Water)
Key Responsibilities:
* Serve as the primary liaison for environmental permitting matters with the Environment Agency and Natural England.
* Lead negotiations and secure all required environmental permits, consents, and licences across Sussex to support our AMP capital programme and wastewater operations.
* Ensure new permit conditions are clearly communicated and integrated into business operations.
* Provide expert advice and guidance on environmental permitting across the organisation.
* Represent us at both regional and national forums on permitting issues, including engagements with regulators and Water UK.
* Maintain and update the company's permit management system to reflect new or revised permit conditions.
About You:
* You bring a solid understanding of environmental permitting, ideally with experience working directly with regulatory bodies.
Essential Skills & Experience:
* Strong negotiation and stakeholder engagement skills.
* Excellent communication abilities, capable of working across all levels of the organisation and with external partners.
* Proven experience in liaising and negotiating with environmental regulators.
* Ability to interpret and simplify complex regulatory frameworks.
* Strong verbal reasoning and analytical skills.
* Proficient in IT and numerate.
Desirable Qualifications & Experience:
* A degree in Environmental Science or a related discipline.
* Experience within the water industry or environmental sector, particularly in wastewater and waste management.
