Senior Data Engineer
Location: Remote in UK and Ireland
Salary: £55,000 - £70,000
This is an opportunity to join a growing data engineering function where you can take real ownership of greenfield projects, influence technical direction, and work end to end from design through to deployment. You will operate in a fully remote environment with a high level of autonomy, contributing to modern cloud data platforms used by a range of clients.

They are a fast-growing, data-led organisation building a modern data platform capability for external clients. The data function is central to the business strategy and is continuing to scale with long-term hiring plans in place. Operating fully remotely across the UK and Republic of Ireland, they prioritise trust, ownership, and delivery over micromanagement. The Role
You will play a key role in delivering client-facing data engineering projects, often in greenfield environments. Your responsibilities will include:
* Designing and building scalable data solutions from source systems through to analytics-ready layers
* Developing robust ingestion pipelines and transformation logic using Python and SQL
* Deploying and managing cloud data environments
* Orchestrating workflows and ensuring reliable, production-grade delivery
* Owning projects end to end, from initial design to ongoing optimisation
* Working directly with clients and stakeholders to understand requirements and communicate progress
Your Skills & Experience
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
* Strong commercial experience with Python and SQL in data engineering environments
* Proven ability to lead projects independently and take ownership of delivery
* Experience building modern data pipelines and transformation layers
* Confidence working in client-facing or stakeholder-facing environments
* Experience working with cloud data warehouses such as Snowflake, BigQuery, or similar platforms
* Solid understanding of dimensional data modelling
* A proactive, problem-solving mindset with comfort operating autonomously
* Experience with infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform is beneficial but not essential
