The role
The Information Security Manager plays a critical role within Orbit in safeguarding its digital assets and infrastructure. This position is responsible for shaping and assisting in the execution of the security strategy and ensuring robust protection against evolving cyber threats. The role will lead the security operations team, ensuring the protection of Orbit’s IT systems and services across on-premises and cloud environments.
You will combine strategic oversight with hands-on technical expertise in incident response, threat management, and security architecture. The role will drive continuous improvement, mentor team members, and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.

What you'll achieve
Lead, mentor, and develop a team of 4 security professionals.
Deputise for the Head of IT Security in relevant forums.
Oversee and participate in the investigation, containment, and remediation of security incidents.
Act as an escalation point for complex threats.
Ensure secure design and implementation of cloud solutions (preferably Azure).
Ensure compliance with Cyber Essentials Plus, NCSC CAF, NIST, CIS, and GDPR.
Contribute to the development of the security program and roadmap.
Communicate risks effectively to technical and non-technical stakeholders.What you'll bring
Essential skills
Experience in leading and managing technical teams.
CISSP or similar security certification or working towards one
Strong knowledge of security frameworks (CIS, NIST, Cyber Essentials).
Hands-on experience with Microsoft security technologies (Defender, Sentinel, Intune).
Deep understanding of network infrastructure, protocols, and cloud security (Azure).
Proven experience in incident response and threat management.
Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
