We are currently recruiting for a Quality Laboratory Chemist. In this role you will be accountable for the provision of technical support to operations in a QA/QC function through product and materials sampling and testing to ensure required quality standards are maintained. You will be a member of site SHEQ team accountable for completing standard laboratory analyses.
Role Responsibilities
1. Conducts sampling, testing and related tasks in a QA/QC environment following standard instructions and schedules.
2. Works in accordance with pre-established guidelines and procedures under general supervision.
3. Carries out routine analytical tests and assists senior staff with more complex testing activities.
4. Records data and observations and completes routine reports.
5. Carries out routine maintenance of testing/laboratory equipment and liaises with specialist support staff on fault repair.
6. Carries out duties in accordance with relevant SHE rules and procedures and good laboratory practice.
7. Maintains registers and currency of documentation.
8. Enters, manage & collate data and other information.
9. Supports relevant systems & processes.
10. Follows document control and records management systems.
11. Provides administrative support to quality systems as required.
12. Conducts complex and non-routine activities associated with in process, finished product, and environmental investigations.
13. Communicates test results and deviations from quality standards, providing detailed analysis and recommendations.
14. Assists and provides support for plant trials using existing test methods and initiative problem solving.
15. Site emergency response RVP Team Leader – (shift technician only).
16. Research building Fire Alarm Controller – (shift technician only).
About You
To be considered for this opportunity, you will have the following qualifications, skills and experience:
17. Minimum of A level chemistry or science based qualification, preferably HNC Chemistry.
18. Numeracy / statistics skills with the ability to using PC based systems for data analysis.
19. Preferably laboratory experience / acumen with knowledge of GLP / COSHH.

21. Excellent written and verbal communication skills
22. Good interpersonal and team working skills at all levels of an organisation
23. Computer literacy (MS Office, SAP)
