About the Role Do you have lived experience of the criminal justice system and want to use it to support others? As a Peer Support Volunteer, you'll provide low-level, one-to-one support to individuals moving on from our Community Link service, helping them build confidence, maintain wellbeing and stay engaged with services and their local community. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in people's lives while gaining valuable experience, training and ongoing support as part of a welcoming and dedicated team. Key Duties Provide regular one-to-one support in person or over the phone. Offer emotional support and active listening. Support individuals to build confidence, independence and resilience. Encourage engagement with community activities, social networks and appointments. Recognise early signs of disengagement and report concerns appropriately. Maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality at all times. Attend supervision sessions, team meetings and relevant training. About You We're looking for someone with lived experience of the criminal justice system who is empathetic, non-judgemental and passionate about helping others. You'll have good communication and IT skills, be able to maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries, and be comfortable working both independently and as part of a team. To apply for this role, it is an essential requirement that you have lived experience of the criminal justice system. This means you must have experienced police custody, been arrested and have convictions and/or cautions. Your lived experience will help you provide meaningful support and encouragement to individuals accessing the service.
