Job Description
Trainee Land Surveyor – Coventry Are you looking for a rewarding career in Land Surveying, topographical mapping, and construction site measurement? SOCOTEC UK has an exciting opportunity for a motivated Trainee Land Surveyor to join our growing Monitoring & Surveying Division in Coventry (or surrounding areas). We offer an extensive training program designed to transform you into a skilled surveyor within just 12 months, giving you hands‑on experience, mentorship from Senior Surveyors, and the opportunity to develop a long‑term career in a growing and rewarding field.
Responsibilities
* Assist with topographical surveys using Total Stations, GPS equipment, and other surveying instruments.
* Support Senior Surveyors in producing accurate site plans and CAD drawings.
* Help to gather and record land measurement data to industry standards.
* Work safely on‑site, following health, safety and environmental procedures.
* Develop strong working relationships with clients and colleagues.
* Learn to interpret Ordnance Survey maps and technical drawings to assist in survey delivery.
* Travel across the UK is very common; candidates must be open to working away from home during the week and accommodate night or evening shifts as needed.
Qualifications
* A genuine interest in surveying, construction, or civil engineering.
* Willingness to learn and develop technical skills in land measurement and mapping.
* Good attention to detail and problem‑solving skills.
* Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
* A full UK driving licence (travel across the North/Yorkshire area required).
* A positive, reliable and proactive attitude.
