About the opportunity: We are working as the internal recruitment partner for our client, a global organisation providing specialist logistics solutions to the aerospace industry. We’re seeking a reliable, proactive Facilities Caretaker to join the facilities team and help keep our clients premises clean, safe, and well maintained. This is a hands-on role with a real sense of ownership — you’ll supervise a small team of part-time cleaners, carry out general cleaning, and take care of light maintenance and caretaking duties to ensure everything runs smoothly day to day. You’ll also be responsible for routine checks around the building, including fire alarm testing, heating and lighting systems, and reporting any issues that need attention. If you enjoy variety, take pride in your work, and have an eye for detail, this could be the perfect role for you. Responsibilities: Clean, stock, and maintain designated areas across the facility (including dusting, vacuuming, mopping, and washrooms). Supervise cleaning operatives and check work to ensure a high standard is maintained. Carry out small maintenance tasks and repairs to property, fixtures, and fittings. Conduct regular fire alarm testing and ensure heating and lighting systems are working effectively. Maintain adequate supplies of cleaning materials and report when items need replenishing. Carry out occasional deep cleans or special projects when required. Ensure all work is completed safely and in line with Health & Safety and COSHH regulations. Lock up the facility at the end of the day. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following: Proven experience in cleaning, caretaking or facilities support, ideally in a supervisory role. Ability to carry out routine maintenance and handle cleaning machinery. Knowledge of cleaning products, chemicals, and COSHH requirements. A reasonable level of fitness, as the role involves manual work. A flexible and proactive attitude — willing to help cover holidays or absences when needed. Integrity, attention to detail, and pride in delivering a quality service. A “make it happen” approach with a positive, energetic attitude. In return we are offering: A highly competitive salary up to £32,000 Working hours – Monday – Thursday 10am – 7pm and Friday 12pm – 4pm. 25 days’ annual leave plus bank holidays and Christmas closure (which increases after 5 years). Private medical insurance (BUPA) Enhanced pension contribution. Company bonus scheme. Life assurance. Cycle to work scheme. Employee Assistance Programme. Onsite parking. Interested?
