Are you a Registered Children’s Nurse looking to shape the future of Paediatric Outpatient care? Do you thrive in environments where compassionate, high-quality care for children and young people is the top priority?

KIMS Hospital is expanding its Paediatric Outpatient service and is seeking a dedicated, empathetic, and proactive Paediatrics Staff Nurse to join our Team on a Bank basis. As part of this growing service, you’ll play a key role in delivering “healthcare at its best” to patients aged 0–18 years across a range of specialties including cardiology, imaging, dermatology, and physiotherapy.

What you’ll be doing:

* Delivering exceptional care and family support in a calm and child-friendly outpatient environment
* Supporting with assessment, investigations, care planning and onward referrals of the child or young person.
* Assisting in the development and implementation of our paediatric outpatient service in line with national guidelines
* Acting as a key support to the wider multidisciplinary team, providing advice and leadership when required
* Championing infection control, safeguarding, and patient safety standards

About you:

You’ll be an experienced and confident NMC Registered Paediatric Nurse with:

* Post-registration experience working in CYP services
* Up-to-date knowledge of paediatric clinical practice and governance
* Strong interpersonal skills and a child-and-family-first mindset
* The ability to remain calm under pressure and adapt to changing clinical situations
* A desire to shape, grow and support a patient centric paediatric service

Desirable (but not essential):

* PALS/APLS certification, mentorship qualification, knowledge of recent developments in paediatric care.

Before your interview, take the time to research your potential new employer, finding out about their company values and what you might expect working there. Talk as clearly and confidently as you can and if you don’t understand a question, ask for clarification. When answering, focus on positive experiences and be prepared to go into detail about your previous positions and your future aspirations.

There will be opportunity for you to ask questions about the organisation and the role. Take this chance to ask about things that are important to you. Such as, what is expected of you in the first 6 months? Or, what training opportunities are there? Or, what has the interviewers experience of working for the company been like? It’s an excellent way of showing genuine interest.

It’s important to leave the interview on a positive note. If you haven’t already discussed it, you may want to ask when you can expect to hear about their final decision. When it is time to leave, smile and thank them for seeing you. Shake hands firmly and confidently, and if you have enjoyed discussing the job, tell them.
