Do you want to play a strategic role in disrupting serious and organised crime and protecting communities from harm?

Are you confident working across partnerships, influencing senior stakeholders and turning strategy into meaningful operational action?

The South West Regional Organised Crime Unit (SWROCU) is looking for an ambitious and driven Serious and Organised Crime Community Coordinator (SOC CC) to join our team and help strengthen the regional response to serious organised crime across the South West.


The Role

As SOC Community Coordinator, you will work alongside policing teams, partner agencies, community organisations and national policing networks to coordinate activity aimed at disrupting serious and organised crime and reducing the harm it causes within our communities.

You will act as deputy to the Detective Inspector Serious and Organised Crime Community Coordinator and play a key role in developing multi-agency responses across the 4P approach:

* Pursue
* Protect
* Prevent
* Prepare

This is a varied and influential role combining strategic coordination, partnership working, intelligence development and operational support.

You will help shape regional approaches to tackling organised crime, support operational activity and work closely with forces across the South West to identify risks, share intelligence and coordinate disruption opportunities.

This role offers the opportunity to work on complex and meaningful projects that directly contribute to protecting communities from some of the most harmful forms of criminality.


What You’ll Be Doing

As SOC Community Coordinator, you will:

* Develop and coordinate multi-agency responses to serious and organised crime
* Support regional delivery of the NPCC Serious and Organised Crime Strategy
* Build effective relationships with policing teams, partner agencies and community organisations
* Coordinate activity across the 4P framework
* Support intelligence development and information sharing across forces and partners
* Lead and contribute to projects focused on disruption, prevention and safeguarding
* Provide strategic advice and operational support to senior leaders
* Attend regional and national meetings, sharing best practice and coordinating activity
* Support place-based approaches to tackling organised crime and safeguarding communities
* Assist with operational risk management and oversight of ancillary orders

Your work will contribute directly to disrupting organised criminality and strengthening the wider law enforcement response across the region.


About SWROCU

SWROCU is a collaboration of officers and police staff from the five South West police forces and forms part of the national network of Regional Organised Crime Units across England and Wales.

We work alongside local forces and national partners to tackle:

* Cybercrime
* Economic crime
* Drug supply networks
* Modern slavery and human trafficking
* Child sexual abuse and exploitation
* Serious organised criminality

Our teams work across more than 20 specialist capabilities to pursue offenders, protect communities and prevent harm.


What We’re Looking For

We are looking for someone who is strategic, collaborative and motivated by making a difference.

You should have:

* Experience working within serious and organised crime or problem-solving environments
* Experience producing reports and presenting to senior leadership teams
* Strong decision-making and organisational skills
* The ability to translate strategic direction into tactical delivery
* Experience managing projects and identifying disruption opportunities
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Confidence influencing and negotiating with a range of stakeholders, including senior leaders
* Understanding of intelligence sharing principles and law enforcement processes
* Strong IT skills across Microsoft Office applications
* A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel nationally where required

Role Details

* Full-time permanent role
* 37 hours per week
* Based at SWROCU Northern Hub, Almondsbury, Bristol
* Salary: £42,612 – £45,765
* Hybrid working opportunities available

This role requires Management Vetting (MV) and Security Clearance (SC).

Applicants must be able to provide a five-year checkable UK history.
