How You'll Make a Difference
Building new relationships with communities, partners, and town and parish councils, the information and support you provide will help ensure the activities of the council deliver what communities need and support them in developing their own solutions.
To support community growth, it is key that you develop good relationships and build conversations within communities to understand their lived experiences and strengths.
What You Will Be Doing
* To support community development, you will be responsible for providing advice, guidance, and support to community groups, partners, and customers.
* Using your specialist knowledge, you will identify areas within local communities where support is required and engage people in delivering services.
* You will assist in building local community networks and developing engagement to contribute effectively to a range of initiatives.
* Developing good relationships with partner organizations will be essential to secure involvement in achieving objectives.
* You will plan and deliver events to partners and the community, including consultations, presentations, and briefings in various settings.
What We Need From You
* Relevant practical experience in community engagement, supported by evidence of appropriate specialist knowledge, is essential.
* You will be working towards a professional technical qualification and/or hold a relevant degree or equivalent in community development, engagement, or participation.
* Demonstrable specialist knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, and processes is required.
* You should be an excellent communicator, capable of building relationships and engaging successfully with community groups and partner organizations.
What You Need To Know
* This is a full-time role, working 37 hours per week.
* This is a limited-term contract ending on 31st March 2027.
* The role is hybrid, involving work at our office in Badminton Road and from home, with expectations to be active in communities at suitable times, which may include some evenings and weekends.
Interviews will be held on 9th June 2025.
