Life Customer & Adviser Service Business Operations Manager

The Role: M&G Life, formed in October 2024 through a merger, now covers over 5 million customers with more than £300 Bn invested. M&G Life collaborates with partners like Equiniti, Diligenta, Waystone, Paragon, Willis Towers Watson, and M&G Global Services, with teams in Ireland and Poland.

The Life Customer & Adviser Service Business Operations Manager supports the Director, Life Customer & Adviser Services, serving as the primary contact for governance, compliance, and risk matters. You will own governance activities, ensure service delivery standards, and foster stakeholder relationships. You will prepare board and committee materials, manage governance schedules, and ensure compliance with policies and regulations.

The ideal candidate will have strong organizational, analytical, and influencing skills, with excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. You will be responsible for high-quality content delivery, risk management, and coordination across teams, ensuring customer outcomes and regulatory adherence.

Key Responsibilities

* Oversee operational performance across outsourced and insourced operations, reporting on service levels and improvement plans.
* Ensure regulatory compliance and validate the impact of improvement activities.
* Collaborate with data teams to optimize reporting and drive outcomes.
* Manage risks and controls with the Risk function.
* Create high-quality governance materials, translating complex data into engaging formats.
* Maintain governance schedules, manage meeting preparations, and track actions and outcomes.
* Enforce content governance policies and maintain documentation repositories.
* Escalate and resolve actions, risks, and issues, maintaining strong stakeholder relationships.
* Understand and apply policies like Consumer Duty.
* Prepare minutes and organize governance meetings.

Skills & Experience

* Proven experience in governance, business operations, and executive support.
* Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
* Experience in large customer operations and building relationships across functions.
* Ability to simplify complex information and see the broader impact.
* Experience managing supplier and stakeholder relationships.
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Attention to detail, proactive problem-solving, and data literacy.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office and document management systems.
* Knowledge of relevant regulations, industry standards, and risk frameworks.
