Job Description The Assistant Route Manager will assist the Route Manager in delivering revenue protection, passenger information and customer care for customers travelling within their area of responsibility. In addition, responsibilities will include assisting with the management of performance targets, budgets and the development and implementation of performance improvement plans. The post holder will provide managerial cover for the Route Manager and undertake on-call duties if required. You will also assist in delivering the highest possible levels of customer service excellence through effective and consistent achievement of NI Railways service standards and specifications, as well as the development of highly motivated, competent and professional railway station staff within the following area: Northern Area: Bangor, Larne and NW Line Stations The safety responsibilities of the role include compliance with Railway Safety Case requirements, company safety management, security standards and to reassess these at required intervals. Essential Criteria
1. Possess a minimum of an HNC/HND or equivalent qualification in Business/Customer Service/Transport with a minimum of 1 years¿ experience in a customer facing role OR Possess a minimum of 3 years¿ supervisory or managerial experience in a Railway Operational/ Customer Service position.
2. Experience of working in a trade unionised environment.
3. Experience of working with local health and safety representatives to develop and communicate a positive safety culture.
4. Experience of using company operational procedures including cash handling and sales office procedures.
5. Experience of co-ordinating effective revenue protection activities to ensure the security of company money/revenue.
Desirable Criteria
6. Experience of contributing to or managing a budget.
