Warehouse Team Leader (Entry-level) 6785
Location:
Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire
Hours:
Minimum 37.5 hours per week
5 days over 6 on a rotating shift pattern
Start times typically between 06:00 – 09:00 (occasionally 05:00)
Includes some Saturdays
Salary:
£14.12 per hour, increasing to £15.42 with training
Temp to Perm (12 weeks)
Key Responsibilities of a Warehouse Team Leader
* Support Warehouse Supervisors with daily operations across Goods-In, Picking and Despatch
* Lead and motivate a small team of Warehouse Operatives in a chilled environment
* Ensure stock movements are accurate and product codes match picking tickets
* Oversee safe loading and unloading of vehicles
* Maintain high standards of housekeeping, hygiene and food safety
* Liaise with Production, Haulage and Distribution teams to ensure smooth workflow
* Assist with monitoring staff performance and ongoing development
* Provide cover for Warehouse Supervisors when required
Key Skills of a Warehouse Team Leader
* Strong communication skills and ability to build positive working relationships
* Motivated and proactive with a desire to develop into leadership
* High attention to detail and strong organisational skills
* Flexible approach to shifts and changing priorities
* Good knowledge of Health & Safety practices
* FMCG / chilled warehouse experience (desirable)
* Forklift / PPT licence (desirable – training available)
Additional Information
This is an excellent entry-level leadership opportunity within a brand-new, state-of-the-art chilled warehouse. Full training and development will be provided, including Level 2 Food Safety, HACCP and COSHH, with long-term progression into Supervisor or Warehouse Management roles.
