A rare opportunity has come up with a very well established business in the Leyland area for an experienced Management Accountant looking to step up into a Finance Manager position.
Working for an impressive Finance Director who is taking on a wider role in the business this role has plenty of scope for development within a company that consistently promotes from within. You will be joining an established and long standing finance team and will be given responsibility for the financial operations of the company, ensuring sound financial judgement, compliance, and planning that continues to support business growth. This role is ideal for an ambitious Accountant looking to step up into a role offering support when needed and ownership of both day-to-day accounting and the chance to contribute to long-term financial strategy. Key responsibilities will include:
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports. Analyse financial performance and provide insights to support decision-making. Ensure accurate and timely reporting in compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements. Develop and manage annual budgets and financial forecasts in collaboration with management. Monitor budget variances and recommend corrective actions. Support strategic planning with financial modelling and scenario analysis. Manage cash flow to ensure adequate liquidity for operations. Oversee banking relationships and optimise financing arrangements. Ensure compliance with tax laws, statutory regulations, and audit requirements. Liaise with external auditors, tax authorities, and financial institutions.
Within this role you will be expected to collaborate with other departments, developing accounting solutions that support business goals. You will supervise and develop the finance team, seeking continuous improvement and automating processes where necessary. The business operates on SAGE 200 with a bespoke stock management system so good IT knowledge and a high degree of competency with Excel will be necessary. The ideal candidate would preferably have a professional accounting qualification (CIMA / ACCA or ACA) strongly desirable. Candidates seeking to move out of practice into industry as a first or second move will also be considered favourably.
