Atlantic Projects Company has been servicing the electricity, oil, gas, process, and renewable sectors for half a century. APC has become one of the most experienced power industry contractors in the world.
APC is looking for an experienced Group Financial Accountant to join the team. The role will be based at Cardinal Square, Derby, reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer. It is a full-time, office-based role with core working hours from 8 am to 5 pm (including a 1-hour break), Monday to Friday.
DUTIES
* Manage accounting requirements for dormant/low activity subsidiaries.
* Handle calculations and posting of intercompany transactions, including billing.
* Maintain FX Register and intercompany reconciliations.
* Prepare the monthly consolidated Contribution Report and Financial Statements.
* Allocate charges from the US parent company across APC subsidiaries.
* Prepare monthly reporting packages for the US parent company.
* Generate reports as required by the US parent and tax consultants.
* Liaise with external auditors.
* Ensure company compliance across the group.
* Address US parent accounting and tax queries related to APC.
* Post various month-end journals.
* Manage accruals, prepayments, depreciation, and other month-end routines.
* Review weekly and monthly payroll journals.
* Support base cost review each month.
* Prepare monthly Management Accounts for all APC Group entities.
* Manage allocated Balance Sheet reconciliations.
* Support internal and external audit processes.
* Conduct business analysis and intelligence for operations.
* Perform other activities as typically required in the finance department.
QUALIFICATIONS
* Strong experience in similar roles.
* 5+ years post-qualification experience in a similar role.
* Experience in the Power Generation Industry, Construction & Engineering sectors.
* Working knowledge of SOX compliance.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
* High proficiency in MS Excel.
* Experience with ERP systems.
* Financially aware with strong business partnering skills.
* Excellent team working abilities.
* Good communication skills, capable of making finance relevant to non-finance personnel.
* Solution-oriented approach.
* Highly numerate and computer literate.
* Experience in project-based environments within Energy, Infrastructure, Construction & Engineering sectors.
* Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics.
