Summary
An opportunity has arisen for a Senior Project Manager within SSE North Scotland to lead project managers overseeing electrical power distribution and transmission projects from 11kV to 132kV. The role focuses on delivering safe, profitable, timely, and high-quality networks that meet customer needs and enhance the company's reputation.
The Senior Project Manager will manage their own projects and supervise multiple Project Managers, ensuring the management, control, and execution of various electrical network projects. These may include the installation of power system components, cable systems, switchgear, transformers, busbars, relay panels, and related equipment in substations up to 132KV.
Key responsibilities include:
* Reporting to the Operations Manager, leading multiple project teams to build confidence and support business growth.
* Providing leadership, guidance, and support to Project Managers and teams, maintaining professionalism and fostering positive relationships with clients.
* Ensuring health and safety compliance, undertaking site supervisor roles as per CDM regulations, including managing customer-appointed contractors and subcontractors.
* Managing multiple projects concurrently, overseeing team tasks, and developing team members through regular appraisals.
* Organizing and controlling resources such as materials, equipment, and labor for ongoing projects.
* Maintaining good commercial awareness, completing valuations, and ensuring safety and property maintenance.
* Producing as-built records, test results, updated drawings, and project reports.
Requirements:
* HNC/Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
* Operational knowledge of electrical power distribution systems.
* Site safety passport and experience working on CDM sites.
* SSSTS or SMSTS certification is desirable.
* SSE DNO authorization or equivalent for PTW management.
