We are supporting a well-established, independent UK accountancy firm with an exciting opportunity for an Audit & Accounts Semi Senior / Senior to join their Cambridge-based team. This is a hands-on role offering exposure to a diverse portfolio of clients, from entrepreneurial SMEs and not-for-profits to larger AIM-listed organisations.
With a 70% audit / 30% accounts & tax split, this role offers variety, responsibility, and the chance to develop your technical and client-facing skills within a supportive and flexible environment.
The Audit & Accounts Semi Senior Role
As an Audit & Accounts Semi Senior / Senior, you will take ownership of key client work, depending on your experience.
* Plan and execute audit engagements, leading onsite teams and ensuring compliance with UK GAAP / FRS 102.
* Prepare financial statements and draft tax computations for a range of clients.
* Liaise with clients to resolve queries, escalating complex matters to managers or partners.
* Review and provide feedback on junior team members' work, coaching and supporting their development.
* Manage engagement time and budgets, ensuring work is delivered efficiently and to a high standard.
About You
We are looking for motivated, client-focused accountants with:-
* ACA, ACCA, ICAS or CA qualification (part-qualified or fully qualified).
* Practical audit experience in a UK accountancy practice, including planning and leading engagements.
* Solid understanding of UK GAAP / FRS 102.
* Strong client-facing skills and the ability to build trusted relationships.
* Experience with audit software (e.g., Caseware) and Microsoft Office.
* A proactive, detail-oriented approach and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
