An exciting opportunity has arisen within the R&D department for an enthusiastic, dedicated Research Nurse to join the Paediatric Generic Research Nurse Team at Birmingham Children’s site.
Responsibilities
* Support all aspects of research activity including recruitment, administering assessments and data collection for research, audits and evaluation of studies.
* Maximise recruitment into research studies within the Trust; responsibilities include study setup, protocol implementation, recruitment strategy development, and general data management for NIHR portfolio studies.
* Coordinate and maintain accurate, comprehensive records for clinical trial files to support recruitment, education and monitoring of patients entering clinical trials.
* Work with Research Teams in setting up and raising the profile of clinical trials; develop and contribute to department improvements.
Qualifications and experience
* Sub-part one (children) registered nurse with excellent communication and teamwork skills; able to work independently and flexibly.
* Experience and knowledge of audit, research design and delivery of research projects.
* Experience of clinical research/audit/clinical data collection; knowledge of EU Clinical Trial Directive, Good Clinical Practice and governance frameworks.
Personal skills and attributes
* Excellent organisational and time management skills; meticulous attention to detail.
* Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines and manage meetings, minutes, and papers; capable of working autonomously.
* Strong communication skills with patients and families; diplomatic and professional at all times.
* Understanding of research processes and informed consent principles; commitment to equality and inclusion.
Desirable
* Phlebotomy skills.
