The Major Projects Advisory (MPA) practice sits in Customer, Operations, and Infrastructure (CO&I): one of seven super service lines across KPMG's Advisory business. Operating from all over the UK, we do work that matters, serving the country with diligence and expertise.
'PACE' (Programme Advisory and Capital Excellence) is part of KPMG's Major Projects Advisory team - a multi-disciplinary team of cross-sector experts in complex project and programme delivery. We transform our clients' delivery capability and partner with them to deliver faster, cheaper, greener, and better. We partner with clients across sectors such as:

The Role
As a Director, this role provides strategic leadership to the team, working closely with other Directors and Partners to lead and develop our go-to-market strategy while being accountable for high-quality delivery to our clients. It is a highly accountable leadership role that requires wearing many hats, but you'll be supported by the rest of the team.
Roles & Responsibilities
* Leading the development of our growth strategy and developing high-impact propositions to take to market
* Building enduring sector relationships and becoming the go-to person for our clients on relevant market opportunities
* Collaborating closely with other KPMG capability and sector leads to build consensus on priority targets and activities
* Leading complex client engagements at Board level, providing robust insights into client problems
* Overseeing the delivery of client deliverables, ensuring quality assurance and risk management
* Being an inspirational leader; managing, coaching, mentoring, and motivating colleagues
* Providing training, guidance, and leadership to junior team members
* Contributing to team headcount and recruitment decisions

The Person
We value diversity and seek individuals with significant leadership experience in Project, Programme, and Portfolio (P3M), delivering complex transformations in challenging environments. Ideally, you will have transitioned from a delivery, controls, or functional PM role into consulting, providing strategic advice at C-Suite level.
Skills, Qualifications & Experience
* Capital Investment planning and portfolio management
* Digital, data, and AI transformation and implementation
* Capital delivery transformations
* Business process improvement(s)
* Major programmes / projects setup and operation
* Target operating model (TOM) design and implementation
* Designing and enhancing Project, Programme or Portfolio controls
* Establishing and leading transformation management offices (TMO) or project management offices (PMO)
* Leading major programme/ project maturity assessment and assurance
* Managing troubled projects/programmes and implementing recovery plans
* Proven leadership in complex P3M organizations or consulting firms with major projects and transformational change
* Experience managing multidisciplinary consulting teams of 5-20 consultants
* Broad capability in business development, delivery, and line management
* Specialist project, programme, and portfolio management expertise with a passion for the profession
* Sector experience in Infrastructure, Transport, Aerospace, Defence, Industrial, Financial Services, Utilities, or Manufacturing (preferred)
* Experience managing senior stakeholder relationships and key accounts
* Strong commercial awareness and experience managing bids and proposals
* Leadership skills and resilience, adaptability, and energy to make a difference
* Strong academic background or demonstrable career progression
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
* Relevant professional certifications such as APM ChPP/PPQ, MoP, MSP, PRINCE2
