Job Title: Senior Ecologist
Location: Hybrid (West Midlands)
Salary: £35,000 - £45,000 depending on experience
Role: Permanent – Full time
Are you passionate about ecology and sustainability? We’re looking for an experienced Senior Ecologist to join a dynamic consultancy team working on diverse projects across England, with a particular focus on the West Midlands.
What You’ll Do
* Lead and deliver ecological surveys and assessments, including:
* Preliminary Ecological Appraisals
* Ecological Impact Assessments (EcIA)
* Protected species surveys and licence applications
* Prepare Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) assessments and Habitat Regulations Assessments
* Develop Ecological Management Plans and provide expert advice to clients
* Support sustainable development while protecting natural habitats
What We’re Looking For
* 2 years’ plus experience in ecological consultancy
* Strong all-round field skills and a recognised specialism
* Expertise in Biodiversity Net Gain and botanical identification
* Experience with protected species work and holding relevant survey licences
* Knowledge of wildlife/environmental legislation, planning processes, and Appropriate Assessment
* Full or Associate membership of CIEEM
