As a Chemistry Analyst you will support the operation and development of the Chemistry department within pharmaceutical finished products, API and raw materials.
Please note this is a full‑time role working 39 hours per week, Monday to Friday. The shift pattern will be 09:00‑17:15 for four days and 09:00‑17:30 for one day.
Key Responsibilities
* You will conduct chemistry testing, ensuring all analytical activities follow established methods, quality standards, and regulatory expectations while accurately documenting results and reporting any laboratory exceptions.
* You will manage laboratory materials, including the ordering, storage, tracking, and safe handling of chemistry reagents, consumables, and glassware to maintain full operational readiness.
* You will maintain laboratory operations by overseeing waste removal, keeping work areas clean and compliant, updating laboratory logbooks, and supporting LabGuard activities to uphold a safe and efficient working environment.
* You will support equipment lifecycle activities, assisting with calibration, qualification, routine maintenance, and ensuring instruments remain in validated, audit‑ready condition.
* You will drive quality and compliance through timely documentation, participation in Corrective and Preventative Actions (CAPA), and adherence to UK health and safety legislation across all laboratory practices.
* You will contribute to continuous improvement by proposing process enhancements, collaborating on inter‑company support activities, and helping to optimise laboratory workflows and performance.
Qualifications
* You will hold a relevant scientific foundation, ideally a degree in life sciences, or you will have proven experience in a GMP/GLP chemistry environment as an alternative route to competency.
* You will have a strong understanding of GMP and the ability to apply regulatory and quality principles consistently in day‑to‑day laboratory activities.
* You will have demonstrated professional competence, showing accuracy, reliability, and accountability in your work, with a commitment to maintaining high standards.
* You will have effective communication skills, both written and verbal, enabling clear reporting, collaboration, and interaction across teams and stakeholders.
* You will have the ability to work independently or collaboratively, adapting to changing priorities while following management directives and contributing positively to team objectives.
* You will have a positive and methodical approach, bringing tenacity, organisation, and a proactive mindset to problem‑solving and continuous improvement.
