Head of New Business Sales – Events Location: Oxfordshire. Work model: Hybrid.
Salary: £60,000 - £70,000 + uncapped commission.
You will play a pivotal role in driving revenue growth by identifying, developing, and closing new business opportunities. Responsibilities include selling sponsorship packages for industry-leading conferences and offering digital marketing services in target markets, fostering relationships with commercial stakeholders, and working closely with brand account managers to ensure seamless client handoffs.
As the Head of New Business Sales, you will lead, transform, and scale the New Business function across a portfolio of high‑growth events. This player‑coach role carries direct responsibility for delivering £1.8 m+ in new business revenue annually and building a high‑performing, process‑driven sales team. You will combine hands‑on deal leadership with team management, coaching, and operational excellence to embed a disciplined, high‑activity, high‑conversion sales culture aligned to clear KPIs, structured processes, and consistent execution.
Profile: Head of New Business Sales – Events
Minimum 5 years’ experience in a B2B sales role and new business acquisition
Experience delivering £1 m+ annual revenue targets
Process‑driven with a focus on metrics and accountability
Experience with CRM systems and working in a pipeline‑driven environment
Organised, adaptable and resilient
Proactive and versatile working approach
Proven experience leading a high‑performing new business/sales team, including day‑to‑day responsibilities, performance management, and support for team members
Demonstrated success in improving team performance and conversion rates
Proven experience driving improvements and efficiencies at a strategic level in a new business/sales team
Excellent communication and leadership presence
Comfortable with national and international travel as required
