General Manager - Branded Restaurant Operations
Overview
An opportunity to lead a high-performing branded restaurant operation, driving both commercial success and team development. This role would suit a hands‑on General Manager from a fast‑paced, guest‑led restaurant environment, ideally with experience in a branded casual dining, premium casual dining, or high‑volume restaurant setting.
We are particularly interested in candidates who have led structured restaurant operations with strong front of house and back of house alignment, clear service standards, and a consistent focus on guest experience. Experience from brands such as Nando’s, Wagamama, The Ivy Collection, Loungers, or similar restaurant‑led environments would be highly relevant.
While we are open to hospitality leaders from a range of backgrounds, the closest match for this role will be someone whose recent experience has been centred around restaurant operations rather than a wet‑led or traditional pub management setting.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and develop the management team, providing clear direction, structure, and ongoing performance feedback
* Build and maintain a strong working relationship with the Head Chef, supporting back of house performance and development
* Maintain exceptional operational standards, ensuring strong audit performance and consistent delivery
* Communicate business objectives and updates effectively across the team
* Collaborate with senior leadership and other site leaders to support wider business initiatives
* Conduct regular performance reviews and manage team development
Role Objectives
* Deliver strategic business plans aligned to financial performance, including P&L and KPI targets
* Drive operational excellence and continuous improvement across all areas of the business
* Create a high‑performance, engaged, and motivated working environment
* Support team development through coaching, training, and structured feedback
* Ensure a consistently high‑quality customer experience
Operational Responsibilities
* Oversee day‑to‑day restaurant operations, ensuring targets and objectives are met
* Recruit, onboard, and develop high‑performing team members
* Delegate effectively while ensuring adherence to company standards, policies, and procedures
* Manage employee relations and resolve internal issues efficiently
* Maintain full accountability for financial processes, including cash handling and reporting
* Oversee HR systems, payroll processes, and workforce planning
* Monitor staffing levels, attendance, and absence management
* Ensure compliance across all operational and safety systems
* Work closely with kitchen leadership to ensure smooth and efficient service delivery
* Take ownership of stock control and cost management
* Monitor customer feedback and online presence, responding where appropriate
* Drive local marketing initiatives and build relationships within the local community
