Axon Moore are delighted to be working with a growing manufacturing business based in Tameside to recruit a hands-on Management Accountant. This role will sit within the senior management team and will be a key role within a dynamic, operationally focused environment. Your financial insight will play a critical role in driving performance and supporting growth.
You will work closely with senior leadership and departmental managers and will be responsible for the preparation, analysis, and communication of financial information that covers both daily operations and long-term planning. You will add value and develop in the role as the business grows.
Salary and Benefits:
£40-50k DOE, 23 days plus bank holidays and 3-4 days for Christmas close down. Pension, early finish on Fridays and free parking.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare timely and accurate monthly management accounts, including commentary.
Journal processing, balance sheet reconciliations.
Be actively involved in business operations; partner with operational teams to enhance cost control and accountability.
Lead budgeting and forecasting processes across departments.
Analyse costings, margins, and production efficiencies.
Support inventory valuation and stock control procedures.
Develop job costing models and monitor profitability.
Maintain strong internal financial controls and identify areas for process improvement.
Assist with statutory reporting and liaise with external accountants.
Candidate Profile:
Part-qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA) or Qualified by Experience.
Minimum of five years’ relevant experience in Finance.
Strong background in an SME business from a manufacturing or stock based environment is essential.
Proficient in Excel and accounting software - experience with Xero is beneficial.
Commercially minded with strong analytical skills.
Proactive, hands-on approach with a strong operational understanding.
Clear and confident communicator, able to engage and influence non-finance stakeholders.
Organised, detail-oriented, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
