Your new role
As a School Business Support Officer, you’ll play a key role in ensuring the smooth and efficient running of the school’s front office. You’ll be the first point of contact for visitors, phone calls, and general enquiries—providing a warm, professional, and helpful front-of-house service. The ideal candidate will bring strong experience in receptionist and administrative roles, preferably within an educational setting, and will be confident managing a busy and varied workload.
This is a full-time, temporary position working Monday–Friday 8am–4pm. A DBS on the update service would be an advantage.
1. Weing Visitors: Acting as the first point of contact for all visitors, ensuring they are greeted warmly and signed in and out in line with safeguarding procedures.
2. Handlingmunications: Managing iing calls and messages with professionalism and efficiency, directing enquiries to the appropriate staff and ensuring timely follow-up.
3. Diary and Schedule Management: Coordinating the school calendar by booking appointments, arranging meetings, and sending reminders to staff and stakeholders.
4. Data and Record Management: Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records using systems such as SIMS, Arbor, ParentPay, and Microsoft Office. This includes pupil and staff data, attendance, and other essential school information.
5. Procurement and Stock Control: Ordering and managing supplies, equipment, and stationery to ensure the school is well-resourced and prepared for daily operations.
6. Policypliance: Adhering to school policies and procedures, particularly in relation to health and safety, confidentiality, safeguarding, and data protection.
7. Reprographics Support: Carrying out photocopying, printing, and document preparation to support teaching and administrative staff.
What you'll need to succeed
8. Previous experience in a school environment within an administrative role
9. Knowledge of SIMS, Arbor or other school management systems (desirable but not essential)
10. A friendly, professional, and helpful attitude
11. A high level of confidentiality and discretion
12. Amitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
