UK GL Accounting Manager
Role Overview:
Otis UK is seeking an experienced UK GL Accounting Manager to oversee the Financial Accounting process and improvements in the month-end process across the operating unit. This role requires a strong background in both Statutory and Management Accounting, dealing with internal and external stakeholders. The role reports to the Chief Accountant.
On a typical day, you will:
1. Prepare, review, and approve journals at month-end relating to the Accounting team.
2. Lead projects to improve the robustness of the month-end process and reporting.
3. Maintain a strong understanding of the Balance Sheet with regular reviews and approvals.
4. Work with external and internal auditors.
5. Ensure all Statutory Accounts are prepared, reviewed, and submitted to Companies House within deadlines.
6. Prepare and submit UK Tax returns to HMRC within deadlines.
7. Collaborate with other Finance areas and across the business.
8. Implement and monitor KPIs to track effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.
9. Ensure compliance with regulations, standards, and best practices.
10. Provide detailed input of actuals into monthly meetings with CFO and FP&A.
11. Support the Chief Accountant with other month-end duties, projects, and ad-hoc requests.
What you will need to be successful:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Finance/Accounting or equivalent.
2. Relevant professional qualification – ACA, ACCA, CIMA.
3. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
5. Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.
6. Fluent in written and spoken English.
