An exciting opportunity has arisen within Ward 2 Women’s services, Forensic Inpatient Mental Health Service, for an experienced and motivated Occupational Therapist to join an innovative Occupational Therapy and wider Multi‑Disciplinary Team. The post will be based on Ward 2 at the Newsam Centre, which offers a wealth of resources including several therapy rooms to support the Occupational Therapy Team. The post is advertised for 37.5 full‑time hours per week.
We Are Looking For An Individual Who Is
* Enthusiastic about occupation and its role in mental health
* Able and willing to work flexibly to meet the needs of the service
* Passionate about working with this client group
* Able to work within a team and offer leadership support to colleagues and the wider forensic service
* Willing and able to provide supervision and support to the wider occupational therapy team and the MDT
Key Responsibilities
The post holder will work within the multi‑disciplinary team to provide assessment, treatment and support discharge planning. LYPFT utilises the Model of Human Occupation framework to inform overall assessment and formulate recovery plans for service users. Effective MDT clinical leadership drives the service and equips clinicians with a versatile skill set to provide compassionate and therapeutic care. Assessments and interventions are delivered both individually and in groups, and the clinician will plan and support effective transfers to the community.
