Maintenance Engineer Electrical Technician

The Estates Department provides a comprehensive maintenance, repair and installation service of the buildings, grounds, engineering services and associated equipment throughout the Trust.
You must have served a recognised Electrical/Mechanical apprenticeship and gained a wide experience in building engineering services and plant maintenance plus relevant post apprenticeship training or equivalent experience.
You must hold a current UK driving licence and reside within half an hour normal travel time to fulfil on‑call duties.
The role is Monday – Friday with participation in an emergency on‑call rota plus opportunities for overtime and weekend working.
Salary – Band 5 plus local RRP (£3,277 pa), with an approximate £1,000 pa on‑call retainer, overtime, 27 days holiday & voluntary pension scheme.
Base Location: Poole Hospital

* Full U.K driving licence.
Qualifications
* CITB/EITB Apprenticeship or other approved training.
* Authorised/Responsible Person in one or more of the following specialisms: LV Electrical Systems, HV Electrical Systems, Heating and Ventilation Systems, Steam Systems, Decontamination, Safe Water Systems, Medical Gas Pipeline Systems (MGPS), Natural Gas Supplies, Confined Spaces.
Experience
* Extensive practical knowledge of the electrical and/or mechanical in a complex building environment.
* Knowledge of all relevant legislation and technical guidance.
* Significant experience working in a complex engineering/builder environment.
* Ability to manage and deliver to deadlines and within resources.
* Knowledge of all relevant Health Technical Memoranda's (HTM's).
Skills
* Ability to be intellectually flexible with keen attention to detail.
* A commitment to improving patient services through an ability to sustain a clear performance focus on achieving demanding goals.
* Good organisational skills.
* To be flexible and multi‑skilled to ensure the priorities of the service can be met.
* Able to work using own initiative and as part of a team.
* Knowledge of fault‑finding on relevant plant and equipment.
