We have an exciting opportunity for a Liaison and Diversion Practitioner to join our team in South Yorkshire.
As a Liaison & Diversion Practitioner, you will work autonomously in police detention cells to identify and respond to screening and assessment requests for individuals with health needs in contact with the criminal justice system.
Location
This role is primarily based at Shepcote Lane Custody Suite, with some travel across South Yorkshire. A driving licence and own transport are required.
Hours
The position is full-time, 37.5 hours per week, with shifts covering Monday to Sunday. The salary ranges from £42,094 to £47,466 depending on experience.

Candidates must have the legal right to work in the UK. Offers are subject to vetting and security checks.
Key Responsibilities
* Work as part of the extended Liaison & Diversion team
* Autonomously operate in court and police detention cells to assess health needs of individuals in contact with the criminal justice system
* Utilize validated tools to assess health needs, inform decisions, and create individualised care plans for diversion within and outside the criminal justice pathway

Candidate Requirements
* Qualified Registered Mental Nurse, Mental Health Social Worker, or Occupational Therapist with current registration
* Evidence of ongoing professional development
* Experience with psychosocial interventions and substance misuse awareness
* Excellent communication skills and ability to obtain consent
* Understanding of clinical governance, health and safety, QOF, EBP, and standards
* Knowledge of evidence-based practice, health promotion, NICE guidelines, and pharmacology
* Knowledge of legislation related to community mental health and forensic psychiatry
