Hours: Full-Time 37.5 hours/week
The Acute Cardiac Care Unit at Milton Keynes University Hospital is looking for a highly motivated experienced nurse to join the senior team on this fast paced and exciting area.
The unit has 8 Coronary Care Beds, 4 side rooms, and 14 step-down beds, equipped with fixed monitors and telemetry. We care for patients with conditions including NSTEMI, post Angiography, Heart Failure, Arrhythmias, and Electrolyte Imbalance.
We collaborate with cardiac rehabilitation and heart failure teams, ensuring patients leave well-informed and supported. Staffing ratios are designed to reflect the complexity of cases handled, including level 2 patients.
Milton Keynes University Hospital offers elective angioplasty to inpatients and outpatients, requiring proficiency in vascular management. The hospital is expanding its cardiac implant services.

Main duties of the job
Initial training includes a week-long Trust Induction and two weeks shadowing an experienced band 6 nurse. You will then manage your own team, conduct appraisals, and oversee mandatory training. Responsibilities include participating in audits and managing the divisional bleep for medicine.
