Connect Appointments is working with a well-established engineering and manufacturing firm based in Kilmarnock. Who offers a comprehensive range of refurbishment, maintenance, overhaul, engineering support, project management, and repair services to the UK rail and light rail sector.
We're seeking an experienced Coachbuilder to join their growing engineering team on a full-time permanent basis.

Full-time permanent position
Working Monday to Friday, 7:30am to 4:30pm (with an early Friday finish)
Competitive salary of £41,730 per annumWorking as a Coachbuilder, your day-to-day tasks are:
Stripping out, refurbishing, and renovating trains and rolling stock
Using various metalwork techniques to remove dents, repair rusted sections, and fix panels together
Bodywork inspections and corrosion repairs - cutting out rusted floors and side panels
Installing new floors, lino, ceilings, and partitions and seating Inspection
Removal and repair of internal and external panelling
Refurbishment of train components (brushing, cleaning, and painting)
Using hand, power, and air toolsTo be successful in this Coachbuilder job, you will have previous experience in mechanical assembly or coachbuilding - with time-served experience and relevant qualifications from accredited bodies. Combined with the following skills and traits:
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
Skilled in using tools and workshop equipment
A good eye for detail and a focus on quality
Team player with strong problem-solving skills
