About The Role
This role involves supporting the Street Works Notice Management System for a defined geographical area, managing statutory notifications for Network Rail activities with a highway interface, liaising with authorities and utilities, and advising on and representing Network Rail at various meetings.
* Support the effective management of the Street Works Notice Management System for a defined geographical area.
* Progress statutory notifications to relevant local authorities, street works undertakers, and other bodies for all Network Rail activities that have a highway interface.
* Update the street works management system in accordance with national processes, populate systems with data.
* Liaise with highway authorities, statutory undertakers and public utilities as required, and advise on attendance at highway authorities coordination meetings, where necessary.
* Attend where necessary and represent Network Rail at regional highway authority and utility committee (HAUC) and the Joint Authorities Group (JAG [UK]) meetings.
* Interface and liaise with local authorities on the introduction and application of chargeable permits required for Network Rail works.
* Validation on Fixed Penalty fines made against the route and management of process where Network Rail works were undertaken in accordance with New Roads and Street Works regulations.
* Determine and populate street designations to protect Network Rail's interests in the national street gazetteer (NSG).
* Give advice on and action external electronic notifications in order that business disbenefits are minimised and opportunities maximised.
* Provide advice internally and externally on Network Rail's management and delivery of highways interface activities including advice on Network Rail's notification procedure and timescales.
* Deliver awareness briefings and training on the legislative requirements and Network Rail's processes for highways and interfaces.
Salary: Circa £32,000 - £34,000 per annum

Your Experience And Skills
Essential
* BTEC or equivalent qualification
* Experience in street works management in an appropriate environment
* Knowledge of New Roads and Street Works legislation, associated codes of practice
* Good information technology skills
* Membership of a relevant professional body
Desirable
* Knowledge of public, common, contractual and railway legislation affecting street works
* Good communication skills
* Awareness of railway infrastructure and its functionality
* Good railway and geographical knowledge
