We are looking for a Locum Consultant in Urology to join us within the Surgical Directorate at Airedale NHS Foundation Trust.
The Trust and NHS is facing a time of transformation, challenge and opportunity. The Urology team is developing its service as part of the lighthouse project, introducing new treatments for BHP and is looking to further develop its urology investigations unit. We need a Consultant Urologist with vision and leadership skills to join our current team of enthusiastic surgeons to strengthen our team for the future.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* oFull GMC Registration
* oEntry on the GMC Specialist Register via CCT (proposed CCT date must be within 6 months of interview) / CESR / European Community Rights
* oAn appropriate higher "Urology" surgical qualification.
Experience
* oSufficient experience to provide Acute and Elective Urology services at Consultant Level across a range of Urological techniques
* oExperience / knowledge relevant to local and national access waiting time targets including Cancer Waiting Time (CWT) Targets and Referral To Treatment (RTT) Targets
* o Independent running of Urodynamics Service & DGH Level female functional Neuro-urology
Teaching Slills
* oEvidence of participation in, and demonstrable commitment to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching within the Trust.
* oAbility to contribute to teaching
* oDistance learning or other modern learning methods
* oAttendance at "training for teaching" course.
* oAttendance at "assessment and appraisal" course.
* oDemonstration of Interest in Educational methods (Cert.Ed., etc)
Academic Achievements / Research
* oAbility to perform critical literature appraisal
* oEvidence of recent and current research.
* oDemonstrable knowledge of the up-to-date literature
* oPublications in peer reviewed journals
Clinical Governance / Audit
* oExperience of participation in regular clinical audit.
* oAbility to undertake audit and implement key actions
