Job Description

We are seeking a friendly and professional Front Desk/Welcomer (Part-Time/Zero Hour Contract) to join our team in Southampton, UK. As the first point of contact for our guests, you will play a crucial role in creating a positive and welcoming atmosphere while ensuring efficient front desk operations.

* Greet and welcome guests warmly upon arrival, providing a positive first impression
* Handle check-in and check-out procedures efficiently and accurately
* Respond to guest inquiries and requests promptly and professionally
* Manage room reservations, assignments, and status updates
* Assist guests with information about local attractions, dining options, and transportation
* Coordinate with housekeeping and maintenance departments to ensure guest satisfaction
* Handle phone calls, emails, and other communications in a timely manner
* Process payments and maintain accurate financial records
* Ensure the lobby and reception area are clean, organized, and presentable at all times
* Collaborate with other departments to resolve guest issues and enhance overall experience
* Maintain security awareness and follow established safety procedures
* Respond to guest reviews and requests
* Ensure proper invoicing
* Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen, office, and reception areas
* Handle breakfast setup and snacks and drinks sales
* Follow all Food and Safety protocols
* Perform any other ad-hoc duties as required


Qualifications

* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Proven ability to provide exceptional customer service
* Strong multi-tasking skills with effective prioritization
* Proficiency in basic computer applications and hotel management software
* Ability to remain calm and composed in high-pressure situations
* Versatility and initiative in responding to guest requests
* Friendly and enthusiastic demeanor with a passion for hospitality
* Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
* Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays
* Knowledge of Southampton's local area and attractions
* High school diploma or equivalent; hospitality education is a plus
* Previous experience in a customer-facing role, preferably in hospitality, is advantageous
