Opportunity
We are looking for an experienced litigator to join our Global General Counsel’s Office (“GCO”) team. The successful candidate will defend claims made against EY, including professional malpractice, breach of contract, and securities class action litigation. This role manages and participates in litigation, mediations, arbitrations, and other civil proceedings, and responds to subpoenas, inquiries, and regulatory investigations.
Your Key Responsibilities
* Handle all aspects of litigation, enforcement matters, investigations, and internal investigations
* Advise on cross‑border issues or matters with significant financial or reputational impact
* Consult with partners and stakeholders on potential or threatened litigation to avoid exposure
* Coordinate regulatory subpoena responses and preservation requests
* Advise on professional responsibility and risk management issues
* Formulate defense strategies for active litigation matters
* Manage outside counsel spend
* Conduct interviews of expert witnesses and personnel
* Participate in mediations and settlements
* Prepare legal briefs, pleadings, discovery requests
* Prepare witnesses for testimony
* Develop and recommend EY policy and positions on legal issues
Qualifications
* Significant autonomy in decision‑making in litigation and regulatory proceedings
* Experience as an attorney with substantial litigation and trial experience
* Strong analytical abilities
* Knowledge of laws, rules, and regulations applicable to EY
* Excellent verbal and written communication; ability to interact diplomatically
* Project management skills, meeting multiple deadlines in fast‑paced environments
* Interpersonal skills to manage outside counsel
* Bachelor’s degree from an accredited 4‑year college (top of class preferred)
* Law degree from top law school (top of class preferred)
* 8+ years of experience as a practicing attorney, preferably in a law firm or corporate legal department
* Active license to practice law in the location of the resident EY office

What We Offer You
The compensation ranges below comply with U.S. pay transparency laws. Other geographies follow local salary guidelines.
* Base salary range U.S. $210,900–$406,000; $253,100–$461,400 for NYC, WA, CA (excluding Sacramento). Individual salaries depend on education, experience, skills, geography.
