An exciting new opportunity has become available for an experienced Project Manager to join the team at MK Test Systems in Wellington, Somerset, UK (TA21). Working as an integral part of the Commercial team, a successful applicant will be involved with the project / programme management of both customer driven projects and internal new product developments. They will be working closely with other departments and customers to define modern industrial solutions that advance the manufacturing and testing capabilities of MK products.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Co-ordinating and controlling projects from concept, through development to delivery and through life service. This includes the launch of new and modified components and systems ensuring delivery to timing deadlines, cost and quality.


Key Responsibilities

• Project Planning: Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, milestones and resource allocations.

• Team Coordination: Lead and coordinate project teams, ensuring all members un-derstand their roles and responsibilities.

• Stakeholder Communication: Maintain clear communications with stakeholders, providing updates on project progress and addressing any concerns.

Risk Management: Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to mini-mize impact on project timelines and deliverables.

• Budget Management: Monitor project budgets, ensuring that expenditures remain within approved limits and that resources are used efficiently.

• Change Management: Ensure customer driven or development changes are cap-tured and managed in a professional and commercial manner.

• Quality Assurance: Ensure that all project deliverables meet the required quality standards and comply with relevant regulations and guidelines.


Additional duties

The following duties may also be required:

• The successfully candidate will be part of the MK Test Senior Management Team

• Support to Customer Service Department in resolution of installation, commissioning and in-service issues or problems, either at the factory or customer premises

• Support to Sales for preparation of technical bids and customer requirements capture

• Travel to customers’ premises, in the UK, Europe or Worldwide, as required.


Essential Knowledge and Experience

• A proven track record of successfully managing projects.

• 5 to 10 years’ experience of programme management in a relevant manufacturing industry.

• Strong leadership and team management abilities.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• A bachelor's degree in project management, business administration, or a related field.

• Proficiency in project management software and tools (e.g. Microsoft Project, Asana, Trello)

• Ability to manage own work and supervision of other staff across the entire MK Test organisation and development teams

• Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail


Desirable Knowledge and Experience

• Masters level degree in a Science or Engineering discipline

• A post graduate certification in programme management (e.g. PMP, PRINCE2)

• Knowledge of the Electrical Test industry, including Kelvin and LCR measurement techniques

• Knowledge of CE & UKCA Marking process and requirements.

• Experience of managing sub-contract resources.


Salary and Benefits

This is a full-time role is based at our Wellington, Somerset (TA21) head office

Salary of £45k-£55k p.a. DOE plus Company Benefits including:

Candidates must:

• Be resident and eligible for work in the UK
