HGV Mechanic 4 on 4 off Days Location: Leeds LS9 Salary: £49,000 per year Shift Pattern: 4 on 4 off 6am to 6pm (46-hour working week) Overtime Rate: £22.44 per hour About the Role Youll carry out both planned and preventative maintenance, as well as unscheduled repairs, documenting all work accurately on the companys vehicle maintenance system. This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified and proactive mechanic who takes pride in high standards and efficient turnaround times. Key Responsibilities Inspect, diagnose, and repair vehicle faults to DVSA standards of roadworthiness Complete all maintenance and repair documentation using the companys software Conduct timely servicing and repairs to minimise vehicle downtime Support the target of achieving a 100% MOT first-time pass rate (minimum 95%) Attend vehicle breakdowns and roadside repairs when required Communicate effectively with the Workshop Foreman and Service Delivery teams Ensure compliance with all health & safety requirements, including PPE and workshop housekeeping Skills & Experience Proven experience working in an LGV workshop IRTEC Inspection Technician qualification (or willingness to achieve within 6 months) Category C licence (Category CE desirable) Strong understanding of DVSA compliance and vehicle maintenance regulations Knowledge of transport operations and operator licensing requirements Experience in the waste or transport industry desirable Familiarity with ADR vehicle regulations desirable IOSH Working Safely desirable If you are a motivated individual with a passion for career development, we encourage you to apply for this exciting HGV Technician opportunity.
