Role Title: Security Consultant

Rate: £450p/d via Umbrella
Location: Knutsford (3 Days per Week Onsite)
Role Brief:
We are seeking an experienced Security Consultant to support the delivery of secure and resilient technology solutions across enterprise environments. The role involves identifying security risks, assessing vulnerabilities, and implementing effective controls to protect systems, applications, and data.
Key Responsibilities
1. Conduct security assessments, vulnerability analysis, and risk reviews
2. Design and recommend security controls and best practices
3. Support or perform penetration testing activities and remediation planning
4. Advise on secure architecture across networks, systems, and applications
5. Collaborate with stakeholders to embed security into project lifecycles
6. Produce clear reports and documentation for technical and non-technical audiences
Skills and Experience
A CISSP certification is desirable, with additional certifications such as CISM, CEH, OSCP, or Security+ considered beneficial.
Candidates should have hands-on experience in at least one of the following areas:
7. Computer networking - protocols, segmentation, and secure design
8. Application security - secure coding and vulnerability management
9. Cryptography (desirable) - encryption and key management principles
10. Penetration testing - identifying and exploiting vulnerabilities
11. Databases - securing data and access controls
12. Operating systems (Linux and Windows) - system hardening and security practices

13. MS Office - reporting and documentation
14. Confluence - knowledge management and collaboration
15. Jira - task and issue tracking
