Reception Teacher – Chorley – September 2026 (Maternity Cover)
Veritas Education are working in partnership with a highly regarded 1.5 entry Primary School in Chorley, Lancashire, seeking an experienced, creative, and passionate Reception Teacher for a maternity cover position starting September 2026.

* Contract: Full‑time, maternity cover
* Pay: £160 – £240 per day (dependent on experience and pay scale)

The Role
The successful candidate will take full responsibility for a Reception class, delivering engaging and developmentally appropriate learning experiences in line with the EYFS framework.
You will be expected to:
* Plan, prepare and deliver creative, play‑based learning opportunities across all areas of the EYFS curriculum
* Create a safe, stimulating, and inclusive classroom environment that supports all learners
* Track, assess, and monitor pupil progress using EYFS assessment frameworks
* Differentiate provision effectively to meet a wide range of abilities and developmental needs
* Build strong relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues to support each child’s learning journey
* Contribute to the wider Early Years team and actively engage in school life
The Ideal Candidate Will
* Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
* Have recent and relevant experience teaching within Early Years / Reception
* Demonstrate a strong understanding of child development and the EYFS curriculum
* Be confident in delivering phonics (e.g. Read Write Inc, Letters & Sounds or similar)
* Have excellent behaviour management and organisational skills
* Be creative, flexible, and committed to delivering high‑quality early education
* Be a positive team player with a proactive attitude
