Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and patient Functional Skills Tutor to provide tailored English and Maths support to a male student in Sutton. The successful candidate will deliver engaging, structured sessions that build confidence, improve core skills, and support the learner's individual educational goals.
This is a part-time position suitable for an experienced tutor, teacher, or learning support professional with a strong understanding of Functional Skills delivery.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver 1:1 Functional Skills English and Maths sessions
* Plan and adapt lessons to meet the student's learning needs and ability level
* Support the development of literacy, numeracy, communication, and confidence
* Monitor progress and maintain brief session records
* Create a positive, supportive, and professional learning environment
* Encourage motivation, engagement, and independent learning skills
Requirements
* Experience teaching or tutoring Functional Skills English and Maths
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Patient, reliable, and adaptable approach
* Ability to engage and motivate learners on a 1:1 basis
* Relevant teaching, tutoring, or educational qualifications preferred
* Enhanced DBS check preferred or willingness to obtain one

* 4 days per week
* 2:00pm - 6:00pm
