A vacancy has arisen for a Sergeant (Gnr) to serve as SNCO Training Phase 3 on 609 (West Riding) Sqn, RAF Leeming on Full Time Reserve Service (Limited Commitment) Terms and Conditions of Service (TCoS), with an initial proposed start date of 18 May 2026 (or earlier/later, subject to candidate status). 609 (West Riding) Sqn is a Combat and Readiness Force Sqn consisting of RAF Regt and RAFP Personnel who augment and supplement the Regular C&RF Force. The successful applicant will be responsible to the Squadron Training Officer for the coordination of all Phase 3 personnel. This will include the management of 1 JNCO. Applicants must be able to work independently and as part of a team, effective communication skills (written, verbal and presentation) are an important aspect of this. The post is responsible for: 1. The supervision and management of all RAF Regt Phase 3 Training ensuring training programs meet RAF Regt standards and objectives and overseeing the preparation, execution, and evaluation of Ex Reserve OMEGA. 2. Assist in the planning and delivery of elements of Pre-Deployment Training for mobilised/mobilising Part Time Volunteer Reservist SP, to enable them to deploy on operations in support of 2 C-UAS Wing output. 3. Management of the Phase 3 JNCO, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance evaluations and ensuring they effectively support all training activities and adhere to RAF standards. 4. Control of all Squadron Booking and Management System (BAMS) bookings, assisting in the planning and coordination of training schedules and resources, and maintaining accurate training records and reports. 5. Working closely with other training staff and units to ensure integrated and effective training delivery and providing support for additional training exercises and activities as required. 6. To work collectively within the wider 609 Sqn Training Team to deliver/support Phase 2 training on occasion, including Counter-Uncrewed Air Systems (C-UAS). Training on C-UAS will be given. 7. Support No.2 C-UAS Wg’s output within TCoS.
