Equans UK is looking for a new Head of Business Development to join our Equans Digital Business based from our London office on a hybrid working arrangement.

Role overview
The Head of Business Development – Infrastructure Services is responsible for driving growth within Equans Digital by identifying, developing, and securing new business opportunities across the UK and Ireland. This role focuses on infrastructure services, including environmental monitoring, geotechnical solutions, multi-technical projects, and consulting. It combines strategic market development with client relationship management to position Equans as a leader in digital and infrastructure solutions.
Key activities
Develop and execute a business development strategy aligned with Equans’ growth objectives.
Identify and pursue new opportunities in infrastructure services, including major frameworks and
strategic accounts.
Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, partners, and industry stakeholders.
Lead bid and proposal development, ensuring competitive and compliant submissions.
Collaborate with operational teams to align service offerings with market needs and client
expectations.
Develop and implement a robust pipeline of opportunities across infrastructure services.
Lead strategic bids and manage the end-to-end tender process.
Conduct market analysis to identify emerging trends and growth areas.
Represent Equans at industry events, conferences, and networking forums.
Work closely with delivery teams to ensure proposals reflect operational capability and client
requirements.
Monitor performance against business development targets and report progress to senior
leadership.
Skills, qualifications & experience
A strong academic foundation is essential, typically a degree in business, engineering,
infrastructure, or a related field. Postgraduate qualifications (e.g. MBA or MSc in Strategic
Management) are advantageous but not mandatory.
Extensive experience in business development within infrastructure, FM, or construction
sectors, ideally with exposure to public sector procurement, frameworks, and complex
bidding environments.
Demonstrated success in leading strategic growth initiatives, securing major contracts, and
managing multi-disciplinary teams across regions.
Experience working in matrixed organisations, with a track record of influencing senior
stakeholders and navigating complex governance structures.
