Are you a commercially astute purchasing professional looking to take ownership of a strategic procurement function within a fast-growing, internationally recognised consumer products business?
We are recruiting a Purchasing Manager to lead purchasing strategy, supplier relationships, and commercial negotiations across a multi-channel retail operation. This is a high-impact role offering the opportunity to shape sourcing strategy, influence business performance, and lead a small but capable purchasing team.
The Role
Reporting directly to senior leadership, you will be responsible for developing and executing purchasing strategies that support growth, profitability, and operational excellence.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Leading supplier sourcing, selection, negotiation, and performance management
2. Owning and delivering major retail tenders and commercial bids from concept through to completion
3. Driving margin improvement through effective cost management and supplier negotiations
4. Building long-term strategic supplier partnerships across global markets
5. Identifying opportunities to optimise sourcing routes, reduce risk, and improve product quality
6. Providing market intelligence on supplier capabilities, commodity trends, and sourcing opportunities
7. Supporting sustainability initiatives through responsible procurement practices
8. Leading, coaching, and developing a small purchasing team
About You
We're looking for an experienced purchasing or procurement professional who combines strong commercial acumen with excellent stakeholder management skills.
You will ideally have:
9. 5 years' experience in a senior purchasing, procurement, or sourcing role
10. Proven success negotiating with international suppliers and managing strategic partnerships
11. Experience leading complex tenders, bids, or large-volume sourcing projects
12. Strong commercial awareness with a track record of delivering margin improvements
13. Excellent negotiation and influencing skills
14. The ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on delivery
15. The ability to lead or mentor team members
16. Exposure to consumer goods, retail, FMCG, manufacturing, or product-led environments would be advantageous
