Job Summary
Lead a pioneering Intensive Community Support Programme for young people (13‑18) at risk of family or placement breakdown. Provide clinical leadership and operational oversight, deliver flexible, therapeutic, community‑based support and drive service development.
About the Role
Clinical Team Lead will work within the Newham Council Edge of Care Service, collaborating closely with health, social care and education partners to reduce restrictive practices and support early, intensive intervention.
Responsibilities
* Provide clinical leadership and operational oversight for the Intensive Community Support team
* Lead complex assessments, formulations and interventions
* Supervise up to four staff from a range of specialisms and offer expert consultation, training and supervision to professionals and care teams
* Drive service development, evaluation and quality improvement
* Foster strong multi‑agency partnerships and system‑wide collaboration
* Champion inclusive, trauma‑informed and neuro‑diversity‑aware care pathways
Essential Qualifications
* Registered mental health clinician with current professional registration (e.g. Clinical Psychologist, Systemic Psychotherapist, RMN, OT, Social Worker, Child Psychotherapist)
* Substantial experience in CAMHS or related services, including leadership roles
* Expertise working with young people with complex needs, neurodiversity and trauma
* Strong clinical supervision and service development skills
* Experience in safeguarding and risk management
* Knowledge of trauma‑informed care models
Desirable Qualifications
* Experience in service evaluation, audit and quality improvement
* Knowledge of Positive Behavioural Support care models
Compensation & Working Arrangements
Band 8b – £70,396 to £80,837 per year pro‑rated (fixed‑term, 12 months, full‑time)
